The Beetle Lusina Watch, Geneva, 1930s. Probably made for the 1939 Swiss National Exibition in Zurich. Fine and rare 18K gold and enamel, diamond-set keyless ring watch in the shape of a beetle, with concealed dial. Four-body, diamond-set translucent red enamel wings, white and black enameled head with ruby-set eyes, the sides and belly finely engraved, the spring-loaded wings opening to reveal the dial, diamond-set shoulders, one hinged to act as the winder. Silvered, bâton markers. Blued steel hands. 10 mm x 16 mm, oval, 17 jewels, nickel-finished, bimetallic cut compensation balance, flat balance-spring.Dim. 20 mm x 14 mm. Notes The Lusina watch company is known to have shown ring watches at the 1939 Swiss National Exhibition. The company was known as Pamm Frères prior to 1935 and was listed as Pamm Frères, Montres Lusina, S.a.r.l , in 1966.
