“Breguet et Fils”, Swiss, circa 1810. Fine, large, silver quarter-repeating watch. Four-body, “Empire”, back engine-turned in “sunburst” pattern, scalloped band, gilt brass spring-loaded cuvette. Gilt with white enamel cartouches for Breguet hour numerals, outer enamel minute ring, center chased with a castle. Blued steel “Spade” hands. 55 mm (24’’’), frosted gilt full-plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement brass balance with flat balance spring, continental cock, repeating on gongs by depressing the pendant. Signed on dial, case and movement.Diam. 64 mm.
