The Basket Geneva, No. 9943, circa 1845. Very fine 18K gold, enamel and diamond-set, basket form watch with concealed dial. Two-body, "fermée" type, blue enamel with a gold diamond-set flowers, the lower chased to resemble a woven basket with black enamel ribs, gold cuvette. White enamel, radial Roman numerals, outer minute divisions, Arabic 15 minute numerals. Blued steel hands. Heart-shaped gilt brass bar caliber, cylinder escapement, plain three-arm brass balance, flat balance spring.Case with indistinct maker’s stamp.Diam. 25 mm.
