So-called "Jean-Claude Killy". Rolex "Oyster Chronograph Antimagnetic", Ref. 6236. Produced in the 1950s. Very fine and rare, tonneau-shaped, water-resistant, stainless steel gentleman's wristwatch with round button chronograph, registers, triple date and a stainless steel Oyster bracelet. Two-body, solid, polished, screwed-down case back and crown. Matte silver with applied steel dart and square indexes, tritium dots, subsidiary dials for the seconds, the 12-hour and 30-minute registers, outer graduation for the days of the month in blue Arabic numerals, apertures for the days of the week and the months. Tritium-coated steel "Alpha" hands. Notes Ref. 6036/6236 Antimagnetic chronograph with triple date. - Produced in few examples from the mid 1940s to the early 1960s in 18K yellow or pink gold and very few in stainless steel, with various dial designs and hand shapes and with four different references : - In the mid 1940s: Ref. 4767 - From 1948 to 1951: Ref. 5036 - From 1951 to 1955: Ref 6036, called by collectors the "Jean-Claude Killy" Killy was an international ski champion in the 1960s. This reference was produced in 170 examples in yellow gold, 144 examples in pink gold and very few in stainless steel. - From 1958 to 1962: Ref. 6236. The present watch is one of the most spectacular examples of Ref. 6236 we have everseen. It is in perfect condition.
