Fine and rare, center-seconds, self-winding, water-resistant, stainless steel wristwatch with a stainless steel Oyster bracelet. Three-body, polished and brushed, screwed-down case back and crown. Black with “guilloché” lozenge-pattern, tritium-coated Arabic numerals and indexes. Tritium-coated "Skeleton" hands. Cal. H 219, rhodium plated, 19 jewels, straight line lever escapement, Superbalance balance, shock-absorber, self-compensating Breguet balance-spring. Dial, case and movement signed.Diam. 36 mm. Height 14 mm. Notes Ref. 6350 is the first reference of the "Explorer" model and bears a special dial. The Explorer has been described as "The reinforced Rolex". It has been used in the Arctic, the Himalayas and the Tropics. The first Explorer reference was 6350; it was soon replaced by 6150, which was 2 mm. larger. Produced until 1959, it was replaced by reference 6610, which has a flatter back and a 1030 caliber and is marked Chronometer on the dial. The next generation of this model is reference 1016. Another version was launched with reference number 1655, from the 1970s until 1982, followed by reference number 16550 from 1983 to 1988. That model, the "Explorer II", was called "Steve Mc Queen" by collectors. Created for spelunkers, its additional red hand helps the user distinguish between nocturnal and diurnal hours.
