"Tableau à Musique" French, circa 1860. Very fine and rare eight day going hour and half hour striking musical clock painting, playing two tunes on the hour or at will, with echo, independent quarter-repeating, and vespers at 5 o'clock. Gilt wood framed oil on canvas, featuring a village and a countryside landscape in the backgrolund, a church in the foreground withclock in its tower. White enamel, radial Roman numerals, outer minute divisions. Blued steel Breguet hands.
