Esquivillon et Deschoudens à Genève, circa 1810. Very fine and rare 18K gold quarter-repeating watch with striking Jacks and automaton scene. Four-body, "Empire", engine-turned, gilt spring-loaded cuvette. White enamel ring with Breguet numerals and outer minute divi-sions. Blued steel "lozenge" hands. Center with applied gold cherubs striking bells during repeating, upper part with automaton sceneappearing during repeating, with a Jack striking the hours with a scythe. Notes Esquivillon & Dechoudens Maîtres horlogers of the 18th century. Gédéon-François Esquivillon was associated with his brother Joseph and Jaques Dechoudens in 1774.
