Swiss or French, circa 1870. Exceptionally fine nickel and steel face plate engine. Centering plate with three dog clamps, spring-loaded centering post, steel bed, driven by a crank wheel and intermediate transmission pulley, two-directional slide rest controlled by knurled nut and crank lever, angular cutter adjustment, tail rest, later wooden base.
