Exceptionally fine and rare 18K gold half-hunting large keyless minute-repeating watch with chronograph and 60-minute register. Four-body, massive, “bassine et filets”, polished, gold hinged cuvette, olivetted pin-setting, swiveling anti-theft pendant. Off-white, by Willis, radial Roman numerals, outer minute/seconds track with five-minute/seconds Arabic markers, winding indicator at 12 o’clock, sunk subsidiaryseconds. Blued steel “spade” hands. 49 mm., 3/4 plate, frosted gilt, 24 jewels, lateral counterpoised lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance with gold screws, blued steel Breguet balance spring, diamond endstone, Nicole Nielsen chronograph work, repeating on gongs throughactivating slide in the band.Signed on dial and movement, case punched by Harrison Mill Frodsham and by Bamford.Diam. 60 mm. Notes Both the case and the movement are of the highest quality. The case was made by A.T. Oliver, whose best maker was Bamford. He was the only one allowed to stamp his cases, using a very small letter “B” to do so. The movement, made by Frodsham, icole ielsen and Piguet in collaboration, is superbly finished.
