'Modernista', Courvoisier Frères, La Chaux-de-Fonds, Swiss, circa 1910, made for the South American market, for "Cigarillos Excelsior". Interesting yellow gold-filled digital jumping hour dress watch with retrograde minute hand. Four-body, "demi-bassine", back cover engine-turned in barley corn pattern, gold hinged cuvette etched in Art Nouveau style. Gilt, engine-turned center, top with retrograde minute scale, aperture for the hours. Notes This watch is part of a series ordered by "Cigarillos Excelsior" and destined to be given to their best customers. The design was patented by Gabriel Lopez Mantaras .
