Fleurier, made for the Chinese market circa 1860. Very fine gilt brass and painted on enamel, pearl-set center-seconds watch with special movement and duplex escapement. Three-body, “Empire”, back finely painted on enamel with bouquet of flowers, pearl-set bezels, pendant, and bow, glazed cuvette hinged to the movement ring. White enamel, radial Roman numerals, outer minute/seconds divisions with fifteen-minute/seconds Arabic markers. Blued steel hands. 54 mm (24’’’), gilt brass fully engraved Tixier “Chinese” caliber, free-standing barrel, ruby duplex escapement with ruby rest insert and steel impulse pallet, steel three-arm balance with blued-steel wings, flat balance spring.Diam. 63 mm.
