Blued steel Breguet hands with skeletonised tips. Brass circular full plate with conical pillars, going barrel, the pin-wheel escapement set on the back plate. vine rod gridiron with knife edge suspension. Signed both on the front and back dials. In very good condition. Dim. 135 x 36 cm. Notes An economic version of regulators of this type was much in favour late in the XlXth and early XXth century. Most of these swinging regulators with uncompensated grid-iron rod, were produced in Morez (French Jura) by Prosdame. They were made for the jewellers and watchmakers, to be hung in their window. Therefore the time could be seen both from the street and from the shop, and and constituted a kind of attraction. This early and very fine example is a true oscillating double face pendulum regulator, it can only be compared with very few other regulators of this type, made by Breguet and other fine makers on special request, to be hung in front of a miror or in an open niche between two rooms.
