Oscar Bach (German-American, 1884-1957), circa 1920. A petite or diminutive book table with lamp, the top section above the table branching out to form a trefoil shape with hand forged gilt metal leaves joined by the top scrolls a foliate scrolled finial with central alligator motif hung with a bell form white calcite crackle glass lampshade (likely by Frederick Carder (English, 1863-1963) for Steuben Glass Works (American, founded 1903)), the lower section comprising a small rectangular portoro marble top resting on the hand-wrought iron frame, under which a small glass bookshelf rests above a wrought iron rail with oblong metal plaque signed "Oscar Bach", on legs with gilt leaf supports over central griffin motifs raised on recumbent lion feet. Wired for the U.S. market. Apparently unmarked. Approximate height 53.75", width 26", depth 11.5".
