Nicolier Monnier, Swiss, circa 1790. Fine 18K gold watch with date and decorative dial. Double body, Louis XVI, polished. B. Small eccentric white enamel with Breguet numerals, and subsidiary date above. Gold hands. silver dial plate engine-turned in a sun-burst pattern, applied with two small enamel symmetrical oval plaques painted en grisaille with sitting maidens, holding a swan, on the left, a cornucopia on the right. Hinged gilt brass full plate with conical pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring, gilt brass continental cock with polished steel end-piece. Signed on the back plate. Diam. 47 mm.
