Made by Koda Oumi in Kioto, Ichijo Horikawa, province of Yamashiro, crca 1825. Very fine and rare small brass eight day going, hour striking, spring driven lantern clock, in original fitted shitan wood travelling case Shitan wood outer, the front sliding door with glazed apertures for dial and dumb-bell foliot. Brass rectangular inner with signature on the sliding side panels, the face applied with the dial with aperture above for the dumb-bell foliot. Brass Japanese chapter ring. Blued steel single hand. Brass rectangular with fixed barrels and revolving arbors, both for the going and the striking trains, verge escapement with dumb-bell foliot. Striking hours on a bell above the foliot.
