De Couigny a Paris, circa 1780. Very fine gilt bronze eight day going, quarter repeating, hour and half hour striking Louis XVI wall cartel. Gilt bronze, decorated with goats " heads and the skin of a tiger, its head below the dial, an urn at the top. White enamel with Roman numerals.Gilt brass hands. Earlier, brass rectangular with going barrels both for the going and the striking trains, going train with anchor escapement, small pendulum with silk suspension. Pull wind repeating and striking on a bell with count wheel on the back plate. Signed on the back plate. Dim. 78 x 37 cm. Notes This clock was completed with a very fine earlier movement, as it often happens on clocks of this period, and particularly those in which the movement is not visible.
