French, 19th century. A Napoleon III period (1852-1870) ebonized occasional table with brass mounts and Sevres style porcelain inset charger, the square top comprising a large central inset Celeste Blue Sevres style charger decorated with painted portraits within gilt cartouches of Louis XVI at center surrounded by eight ladies of his court, each lady's portrait surmounting a banner emblazoned with her name, all bordered by classical style gilt strapwork, the charger within a glass window framed by a brass border, each corner of the ebonized wood top decorated with classical brass torch and quiver mounts, the top framed by a cavetto coved molding surmounting a gadrooned brass border, the frieze decorated with central brass mount comprising three putti playing instruments, the frieze panels and corner blocks with incised decoration, raised on four turned legs with brass gadrooning joined by an X-stretcher centered by a square panel decorated with an oval porcelain mount depicting a courting couple in 18th century dress, all raised on toupie feet with brass gadrooning on casters.
