Unsigned, Swiss, cir ca 1790. Very fine 18K gold and enamel pearl-set watch. Double body, Directoire, the bezels with champleve enamelled leaf decoration, the enamel back painted with an allegory, depicting a maiden at Altar of Innocence, painted en grisaille in medallion against a brown ground; fine outer split-pearl inlaid decoration of foliage and ribbon decoration over a red and blue flinque ground. White enamel with Breguet numerals and outer minute ring. Gold hands. Hinged gilt brass full plate with conical pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring, gilt brass continental cock with polished steel end-piece.
