Unsigned, Swiss, circa 1810. Fine and rare, oval pearl-set pendant and ring watch with "vinaigrette" and special escapement. Three body, oval with split pearl set bezel, the hinged back with white and gold formal decoration over a dark blue ground disclosing the "vinaigrette" fully decorated with pierced and engraved foliage decoration. Eccentric white enamel with Breguet numerals. Blued steel hands. Gold dial plate engraved with foliage and floral decoration with a balance aperture above the dial. Hinged oval gilt brass full plate with going barrel passing through the back plate, unusual form of "tic-tac anchor" escapement, plain gold live-arm balance, flat balance spring with regulator. Dim. 33 x 20 mm. Notes The apparently unrecorded escapement of this watch appears to be based on the principle of the " tic-tae " form, as employed for the first ti me by Vayringe in Lunevillc circa 1720 (see Antiquorum sale L'A)l do 17-iorlogerme en France, Geneva, 14 November 1993, lot 50).
