Breguet No. 3456, sold to M. Espejo on 21 December 1820, for 1440 Francs, paid by Mr. de Betancourt. Fine and unusual 18K gold quarter repeating watch with matching ratchet key. Three body, "forme collier", by Joly No. 2357, engine-turned. Gilt brass cuvette. Silver engineturned with Roman numerals on a polished chapter ring and sunk subsidiary seconds. Blued steel Breguet hands. 2F", gilt brass unusual calibre with free standing barrel, ruby cylinder escapement of conventional type, plain brass three-arm balance with pare-chute suspension, blued steel flat balance spring with bimetallic compensation curb on the index. Repeating on gongs with pull-twist piston through the pendant. Signed on the dial and cuvette. Diam. 52 mm. Notes Note: Although of the best quality and very well finished with the typical pare-chute suspension and compensation curb, this watch was made from a calibre scarcely used by Breguet, with a conventional ruby cylinder escapement.
