French, late 19th/early 20th century. A petite giltwood occasional or side table in the Louis XV style, the circular top inset with central Sevres style porcelain scene of Cupid and Venus (or Aphrodite) circled by a raised frame inset with thirteen circular porcelain plaques depicting themes from classical mythology particularly scenes of Venus and Cupid, all plaques with indigo blue borders with gilt decoration and shades of magenta, gold, white, green, blue, and cream, all raised on a tripod base comprising serpentine aprons with central carved shells on three cabriole legs with cabochon knees terminating in scroll feet, joined by stretchers with central ball and point finial. Approximate height 29", diameter of top 22".
