Unsigned, Swiss, circa 1900. Fine gold and enamel, keyless form watch designed as a cicada, suspended from a matching gold and enamel chain. Three part, underside realistically chased and engraved with legs and underbody, wing covers entirely decorated in two tone translucent red champleve enamel over engine-turning, the thorax with black champleve enamelled decoration, spring loaded wing covers hinged and opening from a button in the base to reveal the dial. Matted silver with Arabic numerals. Blued steel "spade" hands.
