Farcot and Laurent, No. 64121, French, ci r ca 1880. Interesting gilt-bronze and "marbre grillotte red" mantel clock with conical pendulm. Break-front moulded marble base with scroll sides and surmounted by a bronze figure of a girl (signed Laurent Scpt.) holding an hour-glass in one hand and the pendulum aloft in the other, the bob of dark blue cold enamel decorated with gilt stars. Gilt scroll mount with black slate ring with applied Roman numerals. Gilt spade hands. Brass plates with going barrels, free-running train with the final pinion passing through the top of the case and carrying a cranked arm to engage the pendulum. Hour/halfhour striking on a bell. Signed on the movement. In good condition. Dim. 67.5 x 28 x 19cm.
