Breguet, Swiss, cir ca 1820. Fine and very unusual 18K gold centre seconds watch with "pirouette " escapement and visible balance. Three body, Empire, polished with faceted band and glazed back. White enamel eccentric with Breguet numerals, the seconds ring on border of the bezel, balance aperture below chapter "6". Blued steel " scoties " hands. Inverted gilt brass full plate with conical pillars, the going barrel passing through the back plate and secured by a bridge, the cylinder escapement with brass escape wheel and cylinder mounted on the axe of a wheel with diamond endstone to the top pivot, set with the spiral spring and geared with the balance staff pinion. Plain polished steel three-arm balance, gilt brass continental cock with ruby end-stone. Apocryphal signature on the dial. Diam. 53 mm.
