Very fine and rare, self-winding, waterproof, platinum and diamonds gentleman's wristwatch with platinum integrated bracelet set with 100 baguette diamonds. massive, polished, satined, screwed back, bezel set with 72 baguette diamonds. blood red enamel with diamond-set indexes, at the centre, a plate bearing the signature in Arab. "Dauphine " platinum hands. 27-460 Geneva Quality Hall Mark, rhodium plated, "fausses cotes " decoration, 37 jewels, lever escapement, Giromax balance adjusted for heat, cold isochronism and 5 positions, antishock system, selfcompensating Breguet balance-spring, 18K gold rotor. Dial, case and movement signed. Diam. 38 mm. Notes A similar watch (published in Palely Philippe Geneve, Wristwatches by Martin Huber & Alan Banbery, 1998 Edition, p. 216, fig. 347.) with green enamel dial, was sold by Antiquorum in April 1992, lot 148 and carries the following case number. These two watches were specially commissioned by an Arab Prince and only two watches of this type are known to date. Originally delivered with a self-winding movement of Cal. 12"'- 600 AT, this watch was fitted in the 1970's with a quartz movement. Later, in the 1980's, the watch was overhauled by Patek Philippe and fitted with a self-winding movement of Cal. 27-460.
