Breguet, Swiss, No. 19548, circa 1815. Very fine and rare 18K gold and enamel, quarter repeating musical watch. Three body, Empire with reeled band and bezels, the glazed back panel finely engraved with a scene depicting Venus and Cupid in a garden, outer azure champleve enamelled formal decoration. Hinged gilt brass cuvette. Gilt brass engine-turned with Breguet numerals on a satin g chapter ring, the centre engraved with a scene depicting Cupid on a cart, drawn by a lion. Gilt brass three-quarter plate with cylindrical pillars, the going train with going barrel, cylinder escapement, plain brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring with regulator. Musical train with pin cylinder, a blued still comb of 13 teeth and fly regulator. Repeating on gongs by depressing the pendant, the polished steel repeating work on the back plate. Apocryphal signature on the cuvette. Diam. 63 mm.
