Very fine and rare, "World Time", 18K yellow gold gentleman's wristwatch. massive, polished, hand engraved revolving reeded bezel bearing the names of 41 towns in the world, teardrop lugs. matt silver with applied gold indexes and Roman numerals, concentric, revolving dial in 24 hours for the nocturnal and diurnal hours. Gold fancy hands. Notes This "World Time" system was invented by Louis Cottier and produced for Patek Philippe, Vacheron & Constantin, Agassiz and Rolex. Patek Philippe has created several models of "World Time" watches and wristwatches, comprising several dress watches, some with "cloisonne" enamel dial, wristwatches with one or two crowns, some also with "cloisonne" enamel dials, usually representing polychrome maps or planispheres of various areas of the world, and a unique rectangular "galbe" pink gold model made in 1937.
