Swiss, retailed by E. Morgan, Jeweller, Nice and Paris, circa 1880. Fine and very rare, 18K gold, diamond and ruby set umbrella handle with keyless built-hi watch in original fitted box. Double body engine-turned, the watch set in the hinged upper section with diamond and ruby set bezel and rare shutter designed as a camera iris diaphragm operated from the revolving bezel, the lower section with a small medallion for a portrait concealed by the watch. White enamel with Roman numerals and outer red Arabic minute ring. Blued steel "spade " hands. Notes The gold shutter disclosing the watch is built on the principle of a camera iris diaphragm.
