Group of Textiles, China, a short surcoat with a pair of rank badges for an eighth-rank civil official, the badges each with an appliqued quail surrounded by Buddhist emblems above the lishui border and rolling waves, with silver and gold couched threads against a blue ground, badge 11 x 11 3/4, a cream silk cloud collar embroidered with flowers and butterflies, a coral silk collar with animal decoration and blue and black trims, a cream silk sleeve band depicting peonies, butterflies, and peaches, and a pair of pale blue silk sleeve bands embroidered in Peking knot and satin stitch with flowers and auspicious emblems.
