Two Items, Tibet, a skull bowl ( kapala ) with a silvered metal nose and silver eyes set with green marbles, the silvered base, cheeks, and cover decorated with repoussé Buddhist emblems, the cranium and jaw inlaid with silvered skulls, mounted with a hinged stand, ht. 3 1/8, and a contemporary thangka with a six-armed dharmapala depicted standing atop two elephant-headed figures on a lotus base and holding a ritual object in each of his hands, surrounded by a flaming mandorla and by eight deities and dharmapala on lotus bases, matted, 28 x 21 in.
