French, 18th century. A pair of transitional period Louis XVI to Louis XV carved and gilt wood diminutive mirrors, each of vertical rectangular form with shell motif crest adorned with scrolling acanthus leaves and beading and otherwise framed by scrolls, with a band of crenulated carving directly surrounding mirror surrounded by a raised flat rectangular band. Unmarked. Each approximate height 12.75", width 9", noting that these handmade pieces are not identical and vary slightly in dimension.
