Buddhist Jade Sutra Book and Ten Inkstones in Case, China, 19th century, the "Juan Xia," second volume, comprising eight pages front and back, the front wood cover carved with two dragons and clouds, the title of the sutra,"Yu Zhi Fo Shuo Tai Zi He Xiu Jing" ("Documentary About The Conversation Between the Prince and the Buddha"), the back cover with a dragon, cloud and a jewel, with a "Qian Long Yu Zhi" mark, each page embedded with dark green jade with yellowish-gray markings, with gilt seal script characters, first page with two dragons and the title of the Sutra, the last two pages with eight seals, depicting Kuan Yin seated on a lotus base, holding a bowl, 9 x 5 1/2; inkstone case cover with "Shi Da Gao Seng," with one seal, each depicting a monk with gold pigment on one side, the other with inscription and one seal, inkstone of red, yellow, green, white, and blue, 8 1/2 x 11 1/2 in. damage to the sutra book; wear to the case of inkstone, over all in good condition
