Two Carved and Painted Merganser Duck Decoys, K. William Kautz, Vermont, late 20th/early 21st century, one silhouette decoy with flattened body in a preening pose, 7 x 14, the other full-body figure in a feeding pose, both signed "KAUTZ" on the bottom, 11 x 25 in. Note: K. William Kautz's work is held in numerous galleries and by collectors around the world. His art has been displayed at the Museum of American Folk Art, the Shelburne Museum, and the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation. He has been chosen by Early American Homes magazine for its annual Directory of America's Best Traditional Craftsmen. For display-the feeding figure's head extends below body (below shelf or mantle top).
