Needlework Sampler, America, second quarter 19th century, silk and wool threads on a linen ground, featuring alphabet panels over a record of seven members of the Michner family beginning in 1804 and ending in 1840, above a verse flanked by flowers, (losses, staining, toning), 17 x 18 1/4 in. , in a period molded wood frame with gilt liner. losses at l.l . about 1/2 in. dia., and scattered losses to wool stitches on the lower floral panel, scattered light and dark brownish stains.
