Herbert Cyrus Farnum (American, 1866-1925) Standing Nude in a Studio Interior. Signed "H. Cyrus Farnum" l.l. Oil on canvas, 47 x 30 in., framed. Condition: Patch reinforcement, retouch, mild surface grime. Provenance: By descent with the artist's family. N.B. The model was the painter's muse. The chair the model leans against was a favorite prop in the artist's studio and remains in the collection of the Farnum family. Repaired tear. about 2 1/2 inches across, to u.r. quadrant in area of the palette, with retouch to this area and a patch to the reverse.
