Reaumur, Rene Antoine Ferchault de (1683-1757) L'Art de Convertir le Fer Forge en Acier . Paris: Brunet, 1722. First edition, quarto, illustrated with seventeen folding engraved plates, ex libris Augustus Denis Fougeroux de Bondaroy (1732-1789), with his bookplate inside the front board, a large fresh copy in contemporary mottled French calfskin, spine tooled in gilt, head chipped. Reaumur made many contributions to science. In this work he focuses on iron and steel forging, with practical experiments, information, and illustrations.
