Tomasini, Jacopo Filippo (c. 1597-1655) Illustrium Virirum . Padua: Pasquarum, 1630. First edition, quarto, collated, complete, illustrated with added engraved title, and forty-seven engraved portraits of illustrious men, with forty-four emblematic devices printed in the text, bound in an unusual contemporary mottled parchment binding with yapp edges, and the gilt arms of the Signet Society on the front board. Tomasini writes brief biographise of seventy-four contemporary luminaries from all disciplines, including Tycho Brahe and Gabriel Fallopius.
