Mahogany Tall Clock by J. Black, Kirkcaldy, Scotland, c. 1825, scroll-top pediment with applied brass rosettes, barley twist freestanding columns flanking glazed dial door, painted Roman numeral dial marked Black, Kirkcaldy , subsidiary seconds and calendar dials, spandrels painted with scenes of the Empire, rural scene in the arch, convex crotch mahogany waist door flanked by freestanding barley twist columns, inset base panel, all on bun feet, eight-day time and strike movement, two cast iron weights and pendulum, ht. 85 in. Base panel cracked from top to bottom in center. Some slight veneer cracks below swan necks. object right waist side has small split at top and bottom. Small split at top of waist door. One hood column detached but with clock. No finial. Movement needs cleaning and to be restrung.
