Large Drocourt Grande Sonnerie Carriage Clock, Pierre and Alfred Drocourt, Paris, no. 17,147, c. 1880, the nickel and brass case with beveled glass panels, fluted engaged columns, four finials, and carrying handle encloses a gilt Roman numeral dial with foliate decoration and spade hands, eight-day grande sonnerie repeating movement marked with DC logo on backplate, platform escapement with two-arm bi-metallic balance, strike-silent lever on the underside and original winding key stamped with serial number 17147 , ht. with handle extended 10 in. According to this source, Drocourt recorded serial numbers on the winding key, and numbers 1,248 to 35,233 are recorded. Movement and case wants cleaning. Striking functions operating properly, all glass in good condition, original key and platform escapement.
