German Singing Bird Box, c. 1980, with serpentine painted porcelain and brass case depicting fanciful country scenes, dancing, and Victorian lives of leisure, which when activated opens to reveal a singing bird in red and green plumage rising from a pierced brass stage with moving body, wings, and beak, all in a lidded display box, wd. 4, dp. 3 3/4, ht. 1 5/8 in. bird moves and sings vigorously.
