Jones Brass Surveyor's Transit, Holborn, London, 19th century, the 7 1/2-in. telescope with rack focusing, bubble level, vertical half circle with silvered scale divided 0-90 with rack adjustment knob, inverted "V" frames, horizontal circle with compass having silvered ring calibrated in four quadrants 0-90, and chamfered silver scale calibrated 0-360 with vernier and fine adjustment knob, on four adjustable screw feet and original wood tripod. Original lacquered surface.
