Rembrandt van Rijn (Dutch, 1606-1669) The Death of the Virgin, 1639, an 18th century impression (Hind, 161; Bartsch/White & Boon, 99 iii/iii). Signed and dated within the plate, collector's stamp (basket of flowers) on the reverse. Etching on laid paper with a cornucopia watermark, sheet/image size 15 1/8 x 12 1/4 in. (38.2 x 31.0 cm), unmatted, unframed. Condition: Trimmed within the plate mark (blank space at the bottom of the composition also trimmed away), repair to corner u.l., several thinned spots, glue/residue to the reverse.
