Samuel V. Chamberlain (American, 1895-1975) Manhattan Twilight, 1935, seventh state of nine (Chamberlain & Kingsland, 111). Signed "Samuel Chamberlain" in pencil l.r., inscribed "Seventh State 1/2" in pencil l.l. Drypoint on paper, plate size 13 1/4 x 9 1/2 in. (33.4 x 24.3 cm), matted, unframed. Condition: Margins 1 inch or more, annotations and subtle soiling to lower margin. Provenance: Through the family of the artist. The sheet measures 16 1/8 x 11 5/8 in. and has a BFK RIVES watermark. There are pinholes to the upper edge. The lower right corner of the margin is creases. There are minor handling marks ans ripples, primarily to the lower margin.
