Alexandra Exter (Russian, 1882-1949) Costume Design for Aeschylus's Tragedy Seven Against Thebes (Septem Contra Thebas) Signed "Alex. Exter" l.r., stamped "DOUANES/ EXPOSITION/ PARIS" and inscribed "No. 56" in pencil and "...A. Exterova/ Sedm pred Theb...Kostym [Costume]" in ink on a label in Czechoslovakian on the reverse. Gouache on paper, sheet size 20 1/4 x 12 7/8 in. (51.4 x 32.7 cm), framed. Condition: Masking tape hinged to window mat.
