Henry Hensche (American, 1899-1992) Portrait of a Seated Female Nude Signed "HENRY HENSCHE" l. r., with a crayon study of a woman on the reverse. Oil on fiberboard 30 x 24 in. (76.2 x 61.0 cm), framed. Condition: Losses along edge l.r. Abrasion with minor paint loss, center left side, measuring 2 in. long. Loss to edge, c.r. side, 1 x 3/16 in, including some of the paperboard layers. Losses to paint surface l.r. corner, probably from old frame abrasion, measuring 9 in. out from corner along bottom edge and 4 in. up from corner along the right side, and measuring 3/16 in. deep at the maximum. Several old tack holes along the edges.
