James Abbott McNeill Whistler (American, 1834-1903) Old Westminster Bridge, 1859, second state of two (Kennedy, 39). Signed and dated within the plate. Etching on paper, plate size 3 x 8 in. (7.5 x 20.3 cm), framed. Condition: Margins over 1/2 inch, toning and foxing, not examined out of frame. Provenance: A Rhode Island estate. Out of the frame the sheet is laid down onto a brittle paperboard, and measures 4 3/4 x 8 3/4 in. The sheet is toned.
