Horace Brown (American, 1876-1949) Rushing Waters Signed "Horace Brown" l. r., titled and inscribed on the stretcher, identified on a label from The Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, One Hundred and Forty-first Annual Exhibition of Painting and Sculpture, January 26 through March 3, 1946, affixed to the frame. Oil on canvas, 32 x 40 in. (81.5 x 101.6 cm), in an Newcomb-Macklin Co. frame. Condition: Paint losses, flaking, craquelure with lifting, surface grime. The losses are numerous and scattered about - all of the tiny white spots visible within the images. There are additional areas of flaking and cupping.
