The catalogue entry from the above-mentioned 1985 retrospective exhibition locates this scene as a the view from the artist's studio in North Pownal, Vermont, and dates the painting c. 1934. The retouch is scattered dashes. The losses are primarily near the frame's rabbet, but there are several small (less than 1/4 inch) scattered about. The largest is near the upper edge towards the right. The craquelure is stable.
