Charles Marion Russell (American, 1864-1926) An Enemy that Warns Signed and ciphered "C M Russell [Buffalo Skull] and marked "R. B.W." within the cast on the reverse, inscribed "R B 102" within the cast on the underside and "R.B.W." l.r. Bronze with dark brown patina, 5 1/8 x 8 x 6 in. (13.0 x 20.3 x 15.2 cm). Condition: Surface dust. Provenance: Acquired by Clark University English Professor Dr. Loring Holmes Dodd (American, 1879-1968); gift to his godson, c. 1968; private New England collection by family descent. N.B. This title was originally modeled in 1921, and cast c. 1922-1928. No additional condition issues to report.
