Parker S. Perkins (American, 1862-1942) Waves Crashing on Rocks Signed "Parker S. Perkins." l.r., inscribed faintly "Parker S. Perkins/ 1 Broadway/ Rock..." on the reverse. Oil on canvas, 20 1/8 x 22 in. (51.0 x 56.0 cm), in a period frame (under glass). Condition: Craquelure, canvas deformation with a tear at the tacking edge l.r., surface grime. Frame bears a label from "Artists Framing Co./ ...Lowenbein, prop./.../New York" on the reverse. Tear measuring 6 inches along the lower right tacking edge where canvas front meets the stretcher. Canvas is weakened along the lines of the most severe craquelure.
